At James Cook Languages, we are constantly looking for new ways to support your employees in their language development. Regular language training is undoubtedly the most effective path to long-term progress. However, from experience, we know there are situations when employees need to develop a specific skill, prepare for a particular communication scenario, or simply stay in touch with the language during periods when regular courses are not running.

That is why we created EDUAcademy – a new learning catalogue available directly in the app, designed to expand the possibilities of corporate language training.

Why choose EDUAcademy?

Flexible learning based on current needs
Employees can choose the format, topic and date that best suit their goals and availability. This allows them to easily adapt their learning to their workload and focus on what they need most at any given moment.

Targeted development of specific skills
Does an employee need to communicate more confidently in meetings? Expand their vocabulary in a specific area or become more fluent when speaking? EDUAcademy offers lessons focused precisely on these needs and real-life communication situations.

The unique JCL methodology in every lesson
EDUAcademy combines the flexibility of online learning with the quality of JCL’s methodology-driven language training. It is not an anonymous language-learning platform – all lesson content is developed in-house, and our teachers meet the professional standards of James Cook Languages.

EDUAcademy does not replace regular language training. It expands its possibilities

Long-term language courses remain the most effective way to achieve comprehensive language development. EDUAcademy complements them with a flexible learning format for situations when employees need to:

quickly prepare for a specific situation – an important presentation, meeting or business trip,
practise a particular communication skill or expand their vocabulary in a specific area,
stay in touch with the language during breaks in regular training, such as summer or while waiting for a new course to begin,
experience the JCL approach and methodology with no long-term commitment,
supplement their regular language training.

Choose from a wide range of topics

The Language Skills module in EDUAcademy includes dozens of topics across different language levels. Some focus on general language development, while others are designed around specific workplace situations.

Lesson formats

Students can also choose the lesson format based on how much time they have available and whether they prefer a more individual approach or group learning:

Group lessons

60-minute lesson – a lesson in a very small group of up to two students, with plenty of space for individual feedback.
90-minute lesson – a group lesson with up to five participants, offering more opportunities for interaction and shared practice.

Conversation-focused formats

Individual conversation – 30 minutes – a 1-to-1 lesson with a teacher on a topic of the student’s choice. Ideal for improving fluency and building confidence in speaking.
Discussion Clubs – small-group conversation sessions focused on selected topics, designed to encourage active speaking and natural discussion.

How does EDUAcademy work?

Students receive access to the EDUAcademy learning catalogue.
They can then choose lessons based on their availability and individual language goals.
All lessons take place online and are led by experienced James Cook Languages teachers.
