REPUTATION
You will work for EDUA Group - the largest education firm in the Czech Republic. Visit our careers page for more information about working with us.
CARE
Teachers are an integral part of our team! Methodological support and opportunity for development are a matter of course for us. We take care of all organisation matters and provide spaces for lesson preparation.
STABILITY
With us, you can be sure that you will have enough courses all year round, and the financial stability that comes with that. The majority of courses run long-term, even for several years.
REMUNERATION
We appreciate good work and loyalty. Hard work and quality teaching can positively affect your teaching rates.
Resource Centre and Library
We are located in pleasant premises in the heart of Karlín in Prague, with a view of the central Church of Saint Cyril and Methodius. In the surrounding area there are countless fantastic restaurants and shops, with frequent farmers’ markets.
With us, teachers have their own space with a well-equipped library (available online too). There you can find more than 3000 textbooks, magazines and pre-prepared materials for lessons. Naturally, there are also printers, computers, WiFi, a laminator and stationery. All of our classrooms are equipped with laptops, projectors and whiteboards. There are also other branches located around Prague, where you can print for free or copy materials for lessons. We also have a monthly internal newsletter, Logbook, in which you can find news from the internal team, interesting interviews and tips for teaching.
We also have great, well-equipped facilities for teachers in Brno. You can prepare for your lessons in the centre of the city at Jakubské náměstí.

Further development
We will tell you more about our school, answer your questions, and give you your contract.
You will put together your schedule with our Course Coordinators and start teaching.
You will meet your Senior Teacher and they will invite you to watch them teaching.
Every couple of months we invite all new teachers to join our team of Senior Teachers for a few drinks to get to know each other better.
During your first month, you will attend our training sessions to develop your teaching skills and meet other teachers.
In order to help you develop as a teacher, we pass on all feedback from your students.
Your Senior Teacher will observe some of your classes in order to give you constructive feedback and support you.
We invite you to an informal meeting over a coffee, where you will be able to give us any feedback and ask about anything you need.
During the whole year, you can further develop yourself at our Friday workshops and training sessions, and also at our yearly conference.
Methodology support
We have developed our own methodology, Coach&Practise, which will make your work with us even easier. We have also written a methodology handbook for our teachers to help you even more with your teaching and lesson planning. Our teachers are looked after by our Directors of Studies and Senior Teachers. We have a great set of interesting and useful training and development workshops for new teachers to support you when you start teaching with us.
Reward and Benefits
We reimburse travel expenses to our full-time teachers. Moreover, if they have been working with us for at least one school year, they are offered a financial bonus. Part of the teachers’ development is also the option to attend any language course or any professional course for free or with a discount.
Methodology
Our methodology Coach&Practise enables us to teach languages effectively to busy professionals, who can only devote a limited amount of time out of their busy schedule. These are students who do not have much time for self-study, preparation and homework.
Each of our lessons focuses on the student’s specific language needs. The method teaches people to use speech in context, and effectively remove any barriers that naturally occur.
The first step of a successful course is the language audit, in which we map out the student’s knowledge and skills, at the same time finding out the student’s individual needs. The style of lessons according to Coach&Practise runs counter to the lecture-style of teaching, and enables students to actively use the language. Language is a reflex, and is best mastered through active use. In their lessons, our students actively speak for up to 80% of the time, always in the target language.
What our teachers say about us
Benjamin Ryšavý
TeacherBeing an in-company teacher for various companies around Prague has been just great. I don't have to sit in one place 8 hours, 5 days a week; I get to travel to numerous beautiful parts of the city; I can largely be the master of my own time; I don't have to do what somebody else thinks is right, but rather what I believe is right for my students (of course, after discussion with them). Throughout the years (I've been with JCL since 2014), I've been extremely lucky to meet plenty of fantastic students, who have made my job a real delight. Last but not least, having a chance to peek into how various businesses, teams and individuals work has been really interesting, and being able to help them work better by developing their language skills has been highly satisfying for me.

Senior teacherThere are several best things about JCL. For me, it's the ability to branch out, get involved, and develop as a teacher. If you put in some time, express interest, and do great work, there's no reason you can't get involved in a new way. From Key Teachers and Methodologists to Log Book team and community events, there are several areas to grow into and mold your own work. To build on that, another great aspect of JCL is the people. The people working at JCL are willing to go above and beyond in helping you with whatever you need, be it sourcebook selection, course advice, or otherwise!
